Dr. Matthew Costin

Dr. Matthew Costin

Being a veterinarian is in Dr. Costin’s blood. Both his father and grandmother practiced veterinary medicine, inspiring and encouraging him to do the same, so working as a veterinarian at Los Feliz Small Animal Hospital has been a dream come true for him. Alongside a dedicated and talented group of professionals, he treats our clients and their pets like his own family members.

Dr. Costin graduated from UC Davis with a Bachelor of Science degree in zoology and his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Western University of Health Sciences. Along with wellness counseling and preventative care, his interests include dermatology, gastroenterology, behavior medicine, and the management of chronic and degenerative diseases.

Away from veterinary medicine, he enjoys almost everything in the great outdoors—backpacking, skiing, mountain biking, and the like. Along with his family, he also loves to travel to places off the beaten path which offers outdoor opportunities. He and his family have a yellow Labrador named Dash.

Dr. Sammy Ahrabi

Dr. Sammy Ahrabi

Dr. Ahrabi has had a passion for the field of veterinary medicine for as long as he could remember. He chose to become a veterinarian once his own dog was viciously attacked by a coyote while he was in high school. After rushing to the nearest animal hospital and witnessing the compassionate care and effective treatment administered, he knew this was the right field for him.

Dr. Ahrabi graduated from UC San Diego in 2011 with a Bachelor’s Degree in General Biology, then went on to obtain his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Missouri in 2016. Since graduating, Dr. Ahrabi has developed an interest in preventative medicine and dermatology. He continues to educate himself so that he is always up to date on current medical therapies and diagnostics. Some of his personal hobbies include basketball, playing the drums, and enjoying long hikes– the more remote the location the better!

Dr. Sofie Prydz

Dr. Sofie Prydz

Dr. Prydz grew up in Sweden and, at age 3, was told by her grandmother that she was going to become a vet. She completed one year of training in dog psychology and did early work as a dog trainer. In 2010 she graduated as a European vet from Szent Istvan University, Budapest.

Dr. Prydz then moved to LA where she went back to study to get her American license. She also had her two kids during these years. After receiving her Californian vet license, she did a rotating internship at VCA ASG. Since then she’s been working in GP and emergency practice with special interests being skin disease, endocrinology and behavioral medicine.

She is a big animals advocate, and being involved in LA’s rescue community and rescue medicine she’s always striving to be a voice for the less fortunate. Dr. Prydz adores all animals truly but her heart surely beats extra for German shepherds! Her first and most beloved dog was a black German shepherd named Alfons. Apart from her kids, she has a pack of dogs and cats at home with always at least one big black shepherd.

Apart from vet medicine, she loves active outdoors living with her kids and her dogs. A few of her personal hobbies include hiking, spending time at the beach, working out, traveling.
