Dr. Matthew Costin
Dr. Costin graduated from UC Davis with a Bachelor of Science degree in zoology and his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Western University of Health Sciences. Along with wellness counseling and preventative care, his interests include dermatology, gastroenterology, behavior medicine, and the management of chronic and degenerative diseases.
Away from veterinary medicine, he enjoys almost everything in the great outdoors—backpacking, skiing, mountain biking, and the like. Along with his family, he also loves to travel to places off the beaten path which offers outdoor opportunities. He and his family have a yellow Labrador named Dash.
Dr. Sofie Prydz
Dr. Prydz then moved to LA where she went back to study to get her American license. She also had her two kids during these years. After receiving her Californian vet license, she did a rotating internship at VCA ASG. Since then she’s been working in GP and emergency practice with special interests being skin disease, endocrinology and behavioral medicine.
She is a big animals advocate, and being involved in LA’s rescue community and rescue medicine she’s always striving to be a voice for the less fortunate. Dr. Prydz adores all animals truly but her heart surely beats extra for German shepherds! Her first and most beloved dog was a black German shepherd named Alfons. Apart from her kids, she has a pack of dogs and cats at home with always at least one big black shepherd.
Apart from vet medicine, she loves active outdoors living with her kids and her dogs. A few of her personal hobbies include hiking, spending time at the beach, working out, traveling.
Dr. Doyi Bae
Dr. Bae was born and raised in South Korea. His grandfather was a farmer and Dr. Bae often helped care for the animals during his visits. He also watched National Geographic on the TV – developing a fascination for big, wildlife cats. The thought and excitement of helping all these animals that Dr. Bae came to love resulted later in his decision to become a veterinarian.
Dr. Bae obtained his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in Korea, then continued his educational journey in New York where he completed a clinical year at Cornell University. After completing his formal education, he moved to Los Angeles where he honed his skills working in various animal practices, until he joined the team at Los Feliz Small Animal Hospital in 2018. Dr. Bae’s professional interests within the field include non-invasive medicine/surgery and diagnostics for both dogs and cats,
Dr. Bae enjoys traveling and experiencing new cultures/foods and playing basketball. He loves sharing his free time with his beautiful wife and their two rescue pets – a chihuahua mix named Ducky and a spunky cat named Yaco. Ducky loves hiking, car rides, and going to dog-friendly restaurants while Yaco loves to eat and sleep at home.
Dr. Lynette D’Urso
Dr. Lynette D’Urso grew up in New England, completed undergraduate studies at Gettysburg College, then graduated from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2001. She completed a one year internship at the University of Guelph in Canada, followed by a three year residency in veterinary cardiology in Los Angeles at the California Animal Hospital. Dr. D’Urso was boarded in cardiology in 2005. She is currently providing mobile cardiology services to veterinarians including physical exams, echocardiograms, ECG’s, treatment and follow-up recommendations.
